Reflection Week 6

WEEK 6

In week sixth, our class continued with some remaining presentation that have to be done. Amirah's presentation are really attract me which is she talked about Lie Detection. Here are the some facts that I have got from her presentation.

  • Look for micro-expressions.

Micro-expressions are facial expressions that flash on a person's face for a fraction of a second and reveal the person's true emotion, underneath the lie. Some people may be naturally sensitive to them but almost anybody can train themselves to detect these micro-expressions

  • Look for nose touching and mouth covering.

People tend to touch the nose more when lying and a great deal less when telling the truth. This is perhaps due to a rush of adrenaline to the capillaries in the nose, causing the nose to itch. A lying person is more likely to cover his or her mouth with a hand or to place the hands near the mouth, almost as if to cover the lies coming forth. If the mouth appears tense and the lips are pursed, this can indicate distress.

  • Notice the person's eye movements.
You can usually tell if a person is remembering something or making something up based on eye movements. When people remember details, their eyes move up and to the left if they are right-handed. When right-handed people make something up, their eyes move up and to the right. The reverse is true of left-handed people. People also tend to blink more rapidly ("eye flutter") as they're telling a lie. More common in men than in women, another tell of a lie can be rubbing the eyes.

  • Do not use eye contact or lack of it as a sole indicator of truthfulness.

Contrary to popular belief, a liar does not always avoid eye contact.Humans naturally break eye contact and look at non-moving objects to help them focus and remember. Liars may deliberately make eye contact to seem more sincere; this can be practiced to overcome any discomfort, as a way of "proving" that truth is being told.

Reflection Week 5

WEEK 5

In fifth week, our class still continued with the individual presentation. Most memorable presentation for me is Rosmariah Rosli’s presentation which is she talked about Misai Kucing. Here’s some facts that I have collected from her presentation.

Misai Kucing is a medicinal herb found mainly throughout South East Asia and tropical Australia which can grow to a height of 1.5m. Misai Kucing belongs to the Lamiaceae family. Misai Kuching is also known as Kumis kucing, cat whisker, kabling gubat, remujung, Javatee, Lamiaceae, Indisher Nierentee, Feuilles de Barbiflore, Java Tea, Kidney Tea, KoemisKoetjing and Yaa Nuat Maeo. Misai Kucing scientific name is Orthosiphon stamineus/ benth. In Malaysia, it is popularly known as Misai Kucing in lay man’s term. The reason the plant is named Misai Kucing ( Cat’s whiskers) is because of its flower’s fine filaments that resembles cat’s whiskers. Below are the pictures of Misai Kucing.

Misai Kucing’s leaves are arranged in opposite pairs. The leaves are simple, green in colour, glabrous with a lanceolate leaf blade and a serrate margin. The petiole is relatively short, about 0.3cm in length and is in purplish red colour while the stem is quadrangle and red in colour. Besides, Misai Kucing is also rich in antioxidant that is important to protect cells from the damaging effects of free radicals.

Next, presentation from Grace Simbun Matthew also catch my attention where she talked about water birth. There are some facts that I have collect from her presentation.

You can labor and deliver in the water or move out of the water for the actual delivery. If you deliver in the water, the midwife or nurse will gently lift up and take your baby out of the water.

During a water birth at a hospital, both you and your baby will receive the same medical care as you would in a hospital bed. A special underwater Doppler device will monitor your baby's heartbeat. You can also receive medications through an IV while you are in the water. If you have a water birth at a standalone birth center or at home, you may have heartbeat monitoring or none at all.

Only women with a healthy pregnancy free of complications should consider a water birth. Be sure you fit the following profile before deciding on a water birth:

You don't have an infection or excessive bleeding.
• You don't have any pregnancy-related complications such as preeclampsia or bacteria in the            bloodstream, called toxemia.
• You don't have herpes. The infection can pass to the baby through the water.
• Your pregnancy is full term, or giving birth after 39 weeks.

Reflection Week 4

WEEK 4

During our fourth week, we continued with the individual presentation. It started with Nuraminah which is she talked about natural beauty and how you make your own natural mask.

1) Oily, Acne-Prone Skin

Oily skin is shiny skin, especially in the T-zone (from the forehead, down the nose to the chin). To test if you have oily skin, press a paper napkin to your forehead. When you pull it away, it should be soaked in oils. While you may find this annoying, the good thing about oily skin is it ages better than dry skin.

2) Dry, Chapped Skin (Recipes Also Good for Mature Skin)

Dry skin feels tight, especially after cleansing. You have a tendency towards fine wrinkles, flaking and red patches. In women of color, skin may appear ashy or dull from dead skin buildup. These face masks, combined with regular exfoliation and daily use of moisturizers should soothe dry, chapped skin.

3) Combination Skin

Most women (some experts say up to 70 percent, although how anyone arrived at that number is beyond me), have combination, or "normal" skin. Combination skin means you may have a slightly oily T-zone and drier cheeks with dry patchy spots here and there. This rose-based mask is perfect for balancing out the oily and dry areas of your skin.

Next, we have Syahira Anuar which is her topic is about bucket list:

Definition of BUCKET LIST is a list of things that one has not done before but wants to do before dying. Examples of bucket lists

Reflection Week 3

WEEK 3

During third week, Ms. Amreet teached us about creating a blog. There is a number of blog that we may use. A majority blog are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via widgets on the blogs, and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites. In that sense, blogging can be seen as a form of social networking service. Indeed, bloggers do not only produce content to post on their blogs, but also build social relations with their readers and other bloggers. There are high-readership blogs which do not allow comments. Blogs are usually written in the first person, because they are the thoughts and expressions of the authors themselves. Blogs are often described as a written monologue. Even companies and commercial organizations use the first person for writing their blogs. It's more informal and direct: if you write a blog, it's because you want to get in touch with the outside world and so you use the most immediate means you can. There are examples of the best platforms to blogging, such as;
BLOGGER

TUMBLR

EDUBLOGS

WORDPRESS

Reflection Week 2

WEEK 2

During the second week, Ms. Amreet teached us how to using Prezi, Personally, most of us are very familiar with Prezi, but we do not mastered it as her. So, she teached us during her Prezi Workshop as our assignment also needed us to present interesting topic by using Prezi platform. Not also that, she also asked us to show her proofreading so that we are not lost in track. I have asked her on what is mine. She approved it, which is my topic; Trypophobia. I am feeling so lucky because once I have asked, she approved it eventually. So, I can work on my topic.

Reflection Week 1

WEEK 1

During the first week, we were introduced about this course which is Writing for Multimedia and Web. In our first class, we were introduced with our lecturer which is Ms. Amreet Kaur. Then, Ms. Amreet ask us either we have any idea about what this course are all about. Not also that, we were also introduced ourselves to her. She also asked us to give an opinion about the class. Most of us give the same answer which is we will learn how to build our own blog and creating our own webpages.

Me myself have my own opinion. Which is for me, this course show us the importance to enhance our skills in using software such as Prezi, Go Animate and other websites. It may help us in using it for presentation. Furthermore, Ms. Amreet also explain us about the Learning Instructional (LI) for our references during this semester. As LI are very important for us to make sure we can keep in track on what we learn.

My Friends

As everyone knows, friendship is one of the most important things in our lives. Sometimes we cannot live without friends. According to relationship, we have to make friendship with good friends to get benefits. On other hand, we have to be optimistic although we have some bad friends in our lives and we have no idea about them. However, I can divide my friends into three groups: honest friends,
successful friends, and motivated friends. The purpose for the classification depends on my society.

My honest friends are always with me whatever happens to me or wherever I am, and that makes them honest friends. In addition, they always say the truth and help me when I need help. Therefore, I spend a lot of time with them more than anyone else. One other thing I love in my honest friends is they always ask me about my health, my education, and all other things. For instance, "A good friend can tell you what is the matter with you in a minute. He may not seem such a good friend after telling". By Arthur Brisbane, The Book of Today. In my view, friends should be honest to each other, no matter how hurtful things can be.

Second group of my friends is successful friends group. Actually, they almost do good things. They study hard and try to save their own time. I hope I spend a lot of time with them to learn new and useful things. Furthermore, they always advising me and convince me to do useful things. We all like to have friends, but there is an old saying you can never have too many friends. Unfortunately, I have a few of them in my lives. I think successful friends are the best friends because we always get benefits from accompanying them.
Last group of my friends is motivated friends group. Of course, they always motivated me to do new things. Unfortunately, sometimes we make mistakes together. They always want to spend a lot of time with me because they like me, no doubt, I like them, too. We always have fun when we meet together. I almost meet them everywhere such as school, gym,...etc. Other important things within them are they motivate me to do

General things and motivate me to leave general things. In fact, that doesn't make sense and looking strange for me. However, I think all of us have to be careful with motivated friends. They can motivate us to do marvelous things. Conversely, they can motivate us to do horrible things.

Finally, whatever friends I have had, I always like to spend a lot of time with them. I think some of them are not good, but I still love them because of our friendship. In comparison, they are so different, but all of them have something and useful things. In addition, I think I will get a new group of friends. They will be international friends. I don't know if they will be honest friends, successful friends, or motivated friends, but I know they will be not from my home country. To sum up, I advise earnestly to protect our friends. Also, it is not necessary to carry a lot about their mistakes because all of us make mistakes. We just want to remember there is no one perfect.
