Problem solving essay.

Discuss the issues faced by the public regarding war toys given to children.

Children have been playing some form of war games throughout history, acting out the battle between the forces of good and evil. Today, there is an ongoing argument about whether allowing children to play with war toys leads to violent behavior. While many parents refuse to permit their children to play with guns and other war toys, some psychologists and toy industry officials do not believe that playing with war toys leads to violent behavior in later life.

They point out that no one has been able to prove that playing with war toys is definitely linked to violent behavior in later life. Psychologists believe that children need a way to express their aggressive instincts. Playing with war toys gives them a discharged while playing as a child, the fewer aggressive tendencies a person will have as an adult.

Other psychologists say that children see violence on television and would act out what they see by forming a gun with their fingers even if they do not have the toy itself. Moreover, toy manufacturers feel that playing toy soldiers can also teach positive values such as patriotism and bravery.

Lastly, even people who are against war toys agree that in the final analysis, children learn values primarily from their parents and not from their toys.
